Building Blocks Learning Center is a family owned childcare center that fosters care and learning for children ages 6 weeks to school age. Our center has successfully been operating for 28 years and we strive to meet all the individual needs of each family and child in our care.
Infants

In the earliest days of a young child's life is important for them to feel safe and secure in their environment. Safety, routine, and love are essential components to an infant's daily growth and development. In our infant room, we work with each child's schedule and routine that best suits each family's needs.
Toddlers

Our toddler program focuses on nurturing the growth and development of their social, emotional, language, and cognitive skills. During this time in a young child's life, they are learning language and social skills at a rapid pace. We focus on learning sign language, finger plays, songs, reading books, and creative play daily.
Preschool 3-4 Years Old

Our preschool program has a fun and thorough curriculum which focuses on the whole child. Our weekly themes are child centered, with a focus on literacy, math, science, and social/emotional development. The teachers have a passion for children and find ways to make their learning meaningful by fostering their independence and individual interest for learning.
Pre-K 4-5 Years Old

Our Pre-K program also has a fun and innovative curriculum that focuses on CT's Early Learning Developmental Standards. The standards are a crosswalk to the Common Core State Standards and our program strives to prepare our students for Kindergarten. We focus on learning social/emotional skills for the classroom (such as resilience and attention) and academic (reading, writing, math, science, and social studies).
