Robert C Newell (Bill and Bonnie's father) conducted his first auction in 1943. He was a full-time farmer, and auctioneer. He obtained his real estate license in the 1960's. He ran his office out of a red storage barn at his home farm and hand painted his own auction signs in the basement of his house.
