Interact with some in our Petting Zoo and learn exciting facts through our interactive exhibits and Keeper Talks.*

Our vision is to provide unreleasable wildlife with life-long homes in an environment that successfully meets their physiological and psychological needs. Our mission is to provide education to our community on the importance of caring for wildlife and their natural habitats.
In 1962, the Yellow River Game Ranch became a first-of-its-kind establishment in Gwinnett County providing a home for injured or orphaned wildlife, as well as a place where hundreds of families came to interact with deer, rabbits, goats and more.Not only did it become an iconic venue in the area, it served as a treasured experience and memory to its many guests.

Take a Walk on the Wildside! Get up-close and personal with some of our animal residents. Learn intriguing animal facts and personal stories about the animals you encounter from one of our knowledgeable (and fun) YRWS Keepers. These two-hour-long guided tours include YRWS admission, two animal encounters, feed cups for everyone in your group, plus, a guaranteed chance to feed the bison from their new platform.

We are not allowed by state law to bring injured or orphaned animals into the sanctuary from the general public. They must go to an approved rehab before they can come to YRWS. If you have found an injured or orphaned animal please check with GADNR, or you can go to the Animal Help Now website and receive help there.
