Jim opened his first shop in New Albany, Indiana at West 5th & Main Streets in a 25' x 50' welding shop with one truck and one welder. Jim soon expanded Padgett, Inc. into crane service by building his own boom truck.

We also are entrusted to safely move delicate, irreplaceable art and sculptures including the twelve Chinese Zodiac sculptures that are on the front lawn of The Speed Museum at The University of Louisville.

Padgett has installed all of the machinery and equipment for the three original forging press lines at International Crankshaft Incorporated (ICI) in Georgetown Kentucky, the largest auto crankshaft forger in North America, with press capacities from 5,000 - 7,000 metric tons.
