Dr. Sanderson is a 2003 graduate of The Ohio State University College of Optometry. She completed a one year residency program at The Eye Center of Toledo in 2004. There she received extensive training in the diagnosis and treatment of ocular disease, surgery co-management, and LASIK evaluation. Dr. Sanderson participates in the Ohio Optometric Association's RealEyes program.
This public awareness initiative seeks to educate children about eyes and vision through the Save Our Sight fund. She was the top presenter of the program in Ohio for the 2005-2006 and 2006-2007 school years, sharing the program with over 1,500 students each year. She is also a member of the Kiwanis Club of Toledo, an organization dedicated to serving the youth of Central Toledo.
