Hugo Schwope founded H.W. Schwope & Sons soon after returning home from WWII. His four sons and he began with a homemade "cable-tool" that operated with a pulley and winch system that "pounded" the drill bit into the ground. This was a very labor intense process. In the early 1970s, he invested in his first two Ingersoll-Rand rotary-rigs.

The first step in drilling a water well is getting an estimate. It's imperative that you provide an accurate well location or elevation so that the well company can provide you with an accurate depth; as all well costs are dependent on the depth. Second, a site visit is strongly recommended so all details can be accounted for prior to the start of the job.

Rainwater storage tanks are a great way to get ahead of the droughts in the drought-prone Hill Country. Rainwater tanks offer many benefits from reduction of sediments, iron, and minerals, to aerating any odors that may come from sulfur in the water. Further, having a 2500 gallon+ storage tank, provides days of water storage for a typical family in the event of a power outage or downhole pump failure.
Well Inspections

Well inspections are performed to ensure the well system is operating efficiently. Schwope's trained technicians will do a full visual inspection of the equipment on surface for leaks and potential hazards. We will test all electrical components and do a flow test to determine how many Gallons Per Minute (GPM) the well produces.
