Wenatchee Kennel Club
We are a club of dog sports enthusiasts in North Central Washington with our training center located in East Wenatchee, Washington. The mission of the Wenatchee Kennel Club (WKC) is to promote responsible pet ownership and to engage handlers and dogs in learning activities that exercise the brains and muscles of both handlers and dogs.

We welcome all purebred and mixed breed dogs and their handlers who want to build great canine companionship. The Wenatchee Kennel Club is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. We offer dog training classes year-round for dog owners and handlers and their dogs. We teach you how to train your dog to get the behaviors you want using positive methods.

Our Instructors
Report
Please meet our dedicated, all volunteer group of instructors. They all have a warm spot in their heart for you and your dog. In my childhood, I started working with dogs in 4-H. When I got my first Rhodesian Ridgeback, I joined WKC. Then five dogs ago, I really began to learn about dog sports training when I started training and teaching dog Agility.
Frequently Asked Questions
Report
We are in the process of building our own training center in East Wenatchee that will be completed in 2018. Until then, we are scheduling classes at 2 different locations. Some of our classes are held in a heated indoor building at the Appleatchee Riders facility at 1130 Circle Street, other classes are held in a covered but unheated horse arena at Metcalf Ranch, 1293 Lower Sunnyslope Road.
Events
Report
WKC hosts several events each year as listed below. If you would like to volunteer at an event, please visit our Volunteer page. This is the eighth year the Club has hosted this event. This year we again offered a "double-double, " which means there are two tests each day for two days. Dogs compete in the Hunt Test at three levels: Junior Hunter, Senior Hunter, and Master Hunter.
Volunteer
Report
WKC welcomes your volunteer participation and expects members to volunteer at two events per year. Volunteering is fun and a great way to get to know other Club members. You can learn a lot about dog handling by being onsite at any WKC event. You might even get inspired to try a new activity with your dog!
Membership Application Process
Report
WKC welcomes anyone who loves dogs, enjoys dog sports, or likes hanging out with other dog people, and is willing to abide by our governing rules and policies. We are an all-volunteer organization, so we rely on members to make our programs run smoothly. 1. Attend a membership meeting prior to submitting your application packet.
