At age 13, my friends in the neighborhood were starting to mow lawns for extra spending money. After a few weeks they lost their motivation and gave up, but I saw a great idea and accepted the challenge myself. For the first year I mowed only a few lawns. Then over the next six years I grew my business to mowing almost 50 weekly lawns by myself.
During the next three years, people in the community were attracted to my commitment and passion for the work I did, and I increased the size of my business from mowing about 50 lawns to over 100 lawns. I evolved from simply being "the neighborhood kid" to running a business with commercial mowers, work trucks, and hired help.
