Amy always knew she wanted to bring out the Beauty in others. She got her cosmotology degree immediately after high school. After 20 years working in another salon, she set out on her own to create Shear Wisdom in 2010. In 2015 fortune smiled upon her with an opportunity to purchase a historic brick building in Downtown Mora better fitting the vison she had for her salon.
Many hours were spent restoring the building to its original beauty and amplifying its perfections, reflecting the work she does everyday. Finally, Shear Wisdom opened their current location in early 2016. Kaitlin came to us shortly after, bringing a fresh young perspective with another passion for Beauty.

I have been a hairstylist in Mora since 1989. After raising my family here working in another salon I decided it was time for a new adventure and I created Shear Wisdom Salon in 2010. I am experienced in the Classic Styles, but I also like to take advantage of the education our industry offers and keep my color and cutting techniques up-to-date.

I am a local Mora resident. I graduated from Regency Beauty Institute in July of 2016. My favorite thing to do in the salon is Men's cuts, but I do everything. My boyfriend and I have a beautiful house in Mora where we have a dog, two cats, and our daughter. We love being outside -> Camping, Fishing, and Gardening.

The shampoo and set used to be the staple of hairdressers and salons, although these days salons may not perform as many as they might have in your grandmother's days. Styles change and trends come and go. The shampoo and set comes back into usage as fashions dictate. Simply put, the shampoo and set is simply shampooing and conditioning the hair, then winding the wet (or towel-dried) hair on rollers to create a curly hair.
