The story of Tulsa Ballet began in 1956. Husband and wife Roman Jasinski and Moscelyne Larkin, and musician Rosalie Talbott, founded Tulsa Ballet Theatre, blending classical dance with dramatic theatre. Internationally known dancers in the Ballet Russe tradition, Jasinski and Larkin set the tone for artistic excellence - a foundation that has been preserved and built upon for decades.

TBII was designed to provide a bridge between the student phase of an aspiring classical ballet dancer and their professional career. Through a national and an international audition search, the most talented young dancers are invited to join TBII to refine their artistic and technical skills by working alongside Tulsa Ballet's main company.

In collaboration with the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre Centennial Commission, this multimedia experience combines dance with documentary film to explore the events of 1921 and the path forward to hope and healing.
