I opened Health Connections Direct Primary Care in 2017 so that patients could have the time they want, to get the care they need without the constraints of a typical insurance based practice. I have dealt with obesity, blood pressure, diabetes and anxiety on a personal level - and have seen how having these health issues leads some physicians make assumptions about me, my interests and abilities.
In my practice, I aim to have my patients not have to deal with this. While I am not in recovery myself, I have practiced addiction medicine in a different practice since 2015 and have many patients who have either dealt with addiction themselves, or who have family members who have dealt with this.

Sick Visits

When you are sick, waiting days or a week isn't really an option. Locally owned Health Connections Direct Primary Care can usually get you or your loved one in the same or next business day for sick visits. We also offer telemedicine visits where you may be able to get treated over the phone at no additional charge.
Chronic Health Problem Care

When you are dealing with a chronic health issue, it's important to work with a physician who you can be open with about what challenges you are facing and how you want to address your care. I can make recommendations and suggestions, but really the progress usually comes from what you do in between our visits.
Wellness Visits

Annual wellness exams help us touch base on what you can do to reduce your risk of developing chronic illnesses, and what you can do to get healthier. A wellness exam can help you focus on what you need to do to take your health to the next level. Lab work is usually done through LabCorp. You can either go through your insurance company to work with them or go through our low negotiated lab prices.
Mental Health Visits

As a family practice doctor who also practices addiction medicine and is a life coach, I have a lot of experience working with people on their mental health. I actively encourage my patients to see a counselor or coach in addition to working with me. I have worked with counselors and coaches at different times in my life and have found it very helpful.

I believe that price transparency is important. Many people avoid getting their blood work done because they don't know how much the fees will be. I remember one woman with diabetes who hadn't had her bloodwork done in over a year because her last bloodwork had cost almost $600 and she was still trying to pay the bill.
