About Board Certification Report

All orthodontists must be licensed to practice, but at this time only 1 in 3 orthodontists have continued on to complete Board Certification. The American Board of Orthodontics (ABO) certification process signifies a unique achievement-a significant step beyond the two to three years of advanced education required for a dentist to become a specialist in orthodontics.

As a courtesy to you and your family dentist, we will always discuss the feasibility of braces or tooth straightening without charging a fee for the initial consultation. As a rule of thumb, we like to evaluate young patients after the 6-year molars erupt and the front permanent teeth just start to appear.

We are so grateful to Franklin Square Orthodontics and Dr. Vitkus! My daughter is a Syracuse University student who found herself in a desperate situation. Her permanent retainer was broken and she had a loose wire in her mouth; due to the loose wire, she couldn't put on her removable retainer and her teeth were separating in a matter of days. She was in pain and she needed help. As a busy college student four hours from home, she could not see her orthodontist in Massachusetts. Our local orthodontist reached out to Franklin Square Orthodontics and Dr. Vitkus called me personally 20 minutes later

I'm very happy with my experience with their office. I considered cheaper alternatives like Smile Direct, but am glad I chose to go with them so I knew an orthodontist was overseeing my treatment and that I always had someone to go to in case I had questions or issues. Friendly office staff and hygienists, too, and easy parking to get in and out. I definitely recommend FSO to anyone looking to straighten their teeth!
