Our Story

The smell of freshly roasted coffee came to Bellingham in 1971. From the beginning, we roasted our coffee in small batches, selecting the best beans we could find from around the world. In the early years we roasted in our coffeehouse, a street level space in Fairhaven's historic Terminal Building.

We had so much fun writing the guides that we decided to bring them to life with Bellingham-based filmmaker, Caleb Young. We hope these guides bring a bit more clarity and joy to your daily brewing routine. For us, sustainability lives at the intersection of people and the planet. Our sustainability journey can be traced back to 2002, when we began sourcing Organic, Fair Trade, Shade Grown coffee. Since then we moved to 100% green power, doubled our roasting efficiency, offset our roastery's carbon footprint, and continue to support causes that we care about.
