Recommended by a friend for 100k tune up & totally happy that we went with 5 star auto.
They even suggested other items that needed more attention & got it repaired on the same visit.

I'm a little late with this review but Long and them did an awesome job repainting the top half of my car considering the rough shape it was in. He even tried to work with me on the price some too. He also was able to FINALLY fix my leaking windows/doors, which myself and other shops have been trying to fix for years now.

Brought my car in to Long and his team to figure out why my check engine light was on. After a few hours of leaving my car in the shop, it was determined there was a leak in an air hose along with a broken sensor. My car was repaired the same day, and I was charged a very fair price for the repair parts and labor. I'm very thankful to 5 Star for their honest pricing and great service. Although I hope to not have any car issues in the future, I would come back here and recommend their business to others.

Can't say enough about this place. My sister was visiting from out of town and her AC went out. Even with a busy load they were able to get her in and get her AC fixed all in one day! Completely above and beyond. We werent expecting it to be ready to the next day at least due to other people in front with work needing done. They stayed late and were able to get her truck's AC up and running that day and she was able to drive home. A HUGE thanks for such amazing service!

This is my go-to for all automotive repair including body work. I have been going here for over 10 years and have had mechanical, electrical, maintenance, upgrade and bodywork done here. It's a family owned business and they do honest work which is hard to find in this industry.
I've referred all my friends and family to this business and can work on pretty much any vehicle. I have yet to hear one complaint from any of these referrals.

These guys are amazing!
They don't BS you at all, do everything they can to save you $$ and keep your vehicle running properly. Easy to communicate your car issues with and they're timely as can be!! I just wish there was more auto shops like this one around... don't waste your time elsewhere. I'll drive my other cars from Houston just to let these guys handle any issues.

I have never had a negative experience bringing my vehicle here. They're prices are unbeatable and their customer services is outstanding. They are mechanics so don't expect a warm 'Chick-Fil-A' style, welcoming but the point is they get the job done. They're great at explaining the work that is needing to get done and they're straight forward with their pricing. Can't imagine taking my vehicles anywhere else for any mechanical work. Did I mention that their prices are amazing compared to other ridiculous rip-offs out there? Check them out and find out for yourselves

I brought in my 2002 4Runner to have the control arms replaced (highly recommend this service if you have a 96-02 4Runner, btw). When I picked it up the suspension was still shaky but at 250k miles I figured it was just the way things were. 5 star said they saw no further issues with the suspension so I ignored it for the next few thousand miles.
Fast forward to today: I took it in for further diagnostic at a Toyota dealer. What was the shaking you ask?
5 STAR DIDN'T TIGHTEN THE BOLTS ON THE CONTROL ARMS AND THEY WERE COMPLETELY LOOSE!! Control arms are a vital part of the steering components

My parents go here and after getting quoted at Toyota. I figured I would give it a shot. Not only are these guys a hell of a lot cheaper, they're honest and have exceptional customer service. Not only did I not need to do a few services recommended by Toyota but these guys actually checked and told me exactly what and was not wrong. They saved me hundreds of dollars. I will continue to come here as long as they're around. Will never need to look for another shop. Great job. And thank you for being honest and credible. Hard to find these days!

I completely regret going to another shop which was recommended by a co worker in the past. They did not do a great job compared to 5 Star Auto! Comparing my two cars, I wish I could've taken my first accident to this shop! I got into a car accident and couldn't decide where to go that would cost an arm and leg. After past awful experiences, I am scared to pick another wrong place.
Of all the car shops on Lamar, I highly recommend 5 Star Auto!!! They did an amazing paint job on my car! Took the dent out and looks brand spanking new! The white color on this car is not an easy match either

They chose their name well. I am blown away by the level of service and integrity these guys provide every time I take my car in, and they have become the only place I will take it. Unlike other mechanics who nickel and dime you every time they have to turn a screw, these guys will actually throw small services in for free (e.g. went in for an oil change, they noticed my coolant was low and topped it up). They do that in addition to having some of the lowest prices in Austin. They will even text you photos of problems they find, explain what's going on, and tell you the options for fixing

I always get a quote right away, my car is always fixed in a timely manner, even parts that need to be ordered come in quickly, Long is great at communicating with me as needed, you can even get a great car detail there if you're needing a nice clean up. This is the only place I will take my car. I love my car, and Long is the only person I trust with it. He always gets the job done right, with no hassles, no up selling, no bs'ing. He has done extensive work on my 2007 350Z, from alignments and oil changes, to body work and an engine swap. Through all of it, I have never found anyone that can beat 5 Star in price, or works harder to make sure you are completely satisfied before your car leaves the shop.
