Phil Greer has over 30+ years of experience as a restaurant owner, catering owner, hotel food & beverage director and holder of the prestigious Level II Sommelier designation. Greer is a seasoned veteran who knows his stuff and has created a lovely, comfortable anchor point on the Stephenville County Courthouse square.

Housed in what was originally Dawson's Saloon back in the early 1900's and sporting the original flooring and wooden support beams, it's open, bright and welcoming. When describing Greer's Ranch Cafe, Greer says "We prepare and serve fresh food that has great flavor, affordable, in a comfortable atmosphere."

The hostess was very kind and accommodating! The shrimp cocktail was excellent, but that’s as far as it went I ordered the 12oz ribeye it was overcooked and tough the asparagus was overcooked!

What a great dinner. Their Chicken Fried Steak was hot and fresh. Our meal came with a side salad with homemade croutons and a lettuce mix that wasn't the wilted iceberg you see at a lot of places. Mac n cheese was creamy, spinach was fresh too. We got chicken and dumplings as well and they were some of the best I've had.

Greer’s ranch cafe was just the right place to go to in this small town. It seems like everyone knows each other, all the waitresses are so personable and ready to please. I had a waitress designated to our table, Chloe, but was taken care of by all. Love the smiling faces, and laughs between everyone.
The names I remembered, Courtney, Jenna, Brilla, and Chloe. All so sweet.
Food was delicious and fresh. Definitely coming back when I pass through!

Awesome breakfasts. The burgers are great but if you add bacon, it's a game changer with that thick cut. The chicken fried steaks are some of the best in Texas! The staff is friendly as well.

I had the french 🥖 dip and it was amazing but my father in-law had the Pot Roast that came out cold and gravy too. Customer service was great and welcoming but the customers who also dined in we're stuck up and rude..... Making the atmosphere uncomfortable

The food was good but I must add the service was fantastic. Our waitress Kalee was phenomenal and extremely personable. The atmosphere was very homey and comfortable. I would recommend this place to anyone in the area. The Chicken Fry was scrumptious as well as the steak fingers. We too had the deep fried deviled eggs. The side dressing was a sort of raspberry chipotle and would go great with just about everything. Giv-em your business and you’ll leave full and happy as a mosquito flying off your ankle.

Great place to eat. Big and open on the inside with very friendly and prompt wait staff. Food was delicious- I had the sweet potato fries & the stuffed tomato salad. I chose the homemade balsamic dressing on the side and it's probably the best I've ever tasted!!!

Friday night at around 5 pm was when my husband and I had dinner. The place was empty. Fast service and my food was delicious. I had the chicken fried steak with gravy on the side. My sides were fried green tomatoes and loaded mashed potatoes. We shared bread pudding for dessert. The CFS was delicious and the batter crunchy. Fried green tomatoes were very tasty. The bread pudding is very worth coming back for. It was so filling, I took half my food home.When we left, the place had filled up. We will definitely be back.

The place was packed and I had a short wait but was assured by a couple that it was worth it. They told the truth. Good service even if the food was a little slow coming out. Eggs over ready were just right. Sausage payouts were tasty and the salsa was fresh. Decaf coffee was good too. No deal breakers and friendly waitress. I am going back!

If you are looking for amazing food in the town of Stephenville look no further! The photo of Gordon Ramsay when you walk in the door should've been an indicator that this place was going to be amazing but I was still skeptical... that is until the fried deviled eggs came out! Absolutely the best appetizers, friendly staff, and big portions!

Totally the best filet mignon I have ever had. The crunchy crab cakes are absolutely amazing! I would love to have the next side salad chilled. My baked potato wasn’t hot but I was savoring my asparagus spears too much to care!! I was disappointed with the bite of rib eye steak my friend had . The bacon wrapped filet was so perfectly seasoned that I couldn’t believe how bland the rib eye was! I loved the chill atmosphere and if you like to dress casual or dress it up ..you’ll be comfortable! It’s a cafe with a twist of old school steakhouse vibe. I wouldn’t mind having bread and butter

Service is really good. Close attention is paid to drinks.
What I don't recommend is the chicken and dumplings. Watery, one huge glob of dumpling. Chicken well I don't think there was any.
Again the service is amazing.
Everyone seamed to be eating chicken fried chicken or steak.

Don`t support this business. Service sucks and food taste like canned also saw how they treated the table next to us. I guess that good old boy mentality still alive and kicking. DONT FORGET ( HOSPITALITY)

Breakfast with the kiddos and all of us LOVED it. I had the omelet with was delicious and they had cinnamon rolls. Both great choices. Cute and clean place, good service, yummy food. Can't wait to return!

This spot is amazing!! The breakfast is awesome (get the french toast) and the coffee is always hot! It's also not crazy expensive which you might believe since it is a nicer place in stephenville!

We waited an hour for our food. My wife had a burger and I had chicken fried steak. It was all just ok, but I ordered asparagus spears as a side. I got canned asparagus. It was awful. We might try Greer's again. And we might not. There are many better places to go.

How have we missed this place!! Omg some of the most awesome food that we have had in a while., we had the fried Devil eggs for appetizers, and oh my word they were awesome!! We had pot roast to die for and a chicken fry that was Texas good.. salad dressings all tasted homemade and wonderful!! Buns and Cornbread was delicious and frozen margaritas and lemon drop martini was too die for also.. all 4 of us left completely satisfied!!! We will be back soon!!! You have to try this place!!!
