About
Report
The Society for American Baseball Research had its beginnings in Cooperstown, New York. From this modest start, SABR membership has broadened steadily. A decade later, it had reached 1,500; today, it totals more than 6,000 worldwide. Who belongs to SABR? Many major and minor league baseball officials, broadcasters and writers, as well as numerous former players.
History
Report
Entering the 21st century, SABR published its first organizational history: a Turner Publishing Co. We have updated that SABR history book, and posted it online, to reflect the ensuing years. Tom Hufford, one of the organization's 16 founding members, took Dick Thompson's original "A History of SABR" text and added more details as SABR has grown.

All SABR members are eligible to sign up for announcements from, or "join", any chapter or committee. You can choose to stop receiving announcements at any time by clicking "Leave Group".
