Downtown Dance Factory is Tribeca's first comprehensive dance center. Since moving to our new, purpose-renovated studios in 2010, we also offer cardio/dance for adults too! Downtown Dance Factory follows in the "dance steps" of our highly successful sister school in Sydney Australia, The Jazz Factory.
Our aim is to foster a love of dance and a freedom of self-expression through movement, through any number of dance styles and techniques. Enjoyment is absolutely our number one priority, however all students are encouraged to develop their dance style and technique to their full potential, no matter their age or level of dance experience.

Downtown Dance Factory offers classes in jazz, hip hop, ballet, lyrical, tap, breaking and theater dance (see descriptions below). With so many class options each week for girls AND boys, from our littlest 18-month olds to our high school seniors, and with options for adults too*, there's a class at Downtown Dance Factory for everyone!

Recital

Downtown Dance Factory's Recitals 2021 were a HUGE success! We danced in the clouds in a raw, open space at the World Trade Center overlooking our beautiful New York City! Sometimes families wonder why their dancers (who either take multiple classes or have siblings who take classes) are not all in the same show.
Costumes
Report
All dancers will wear an amazing new costume in the recital! A costume fee (per class) will be charged for the costume in the spring, once plans for Recitals 2021 are finalized. These bags will contain all costuming elements (except items already owned by students as part of their DDF uniform) and will also contain detailed instructions as to how the costume and hair are to be worn.
