Camp Calvary has been dedicated to fostering spiritual growth and community since its founding in 1960. Originally established on 26 acres donated by Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Coulter, the camp now spans nearly 400 acres and serves thousands annually through transformative programs. Our mission remains unwavering: to provide a Christ-centered environment where individuals of all ages can deepen their faith and build meaningful connections. Located in Washington County, Kentucky, we offer year-round opportunities for retreats, camps, and outdoor adventures designed to strengthen spiritual foundations.Our experienced team, many with generational ties to the camp, ensures every program maintains the highest standards of safety and spiritual integrity. Summer Camps
Our summer camps serve grades K-12 and college-age students with two distinct locations: Main Camp with air-conditioned dorms and Wilderness Camp offering rustic experiences. Programs focus on spiritual development through outdoor activities, Bible study, and community building. Each session incorporates age-appropriate curriculum designed to strengthen faith and foster lifelong friendships.
Adventure Camp
This specialized program provides three weekend sessions annually for mentally and physically disadvantaged individuals of all ages. Our 1:1 faculty-to-camper ratio ensures personalized attention while offering transformative experiences through adapted outdoor activities and spiritual guidance. Pre-registration is required due to limited capacity.
Winter Retreats
Our winter retreats for middle and high school students occur during Martin Luther King, Jr. Weekend. These programs offer spiritual refreshment through worship sessions, small group discussions, and winter-appropriate outdoor activities. The retreats maintain the same Christ-centered focus as our summer programs while adapting to seasonal conditions.
Hike Day Events
Held annually on the first Saturday in May, our Hike Day events attract up to 400 participants for family-friendly outdoor adventures. Activities include hiking, fishing, sports tournaments, and carnival games combined with spiritual programming. This community-focused event serves as our largest annual fundraiser while remaining accessible to all attendees.
Wilderness Programs
Our wilderness programs feature primitive camping, archery, skeet shooting, and survival skills training across multiple themed sessions. These programs emphasize spiritual growth through nature immersion, with options for boys' and girls' groups aged 12-18. Each session combines adventure activities with structured Bible study and leadership development.

Jordan Settles
Camp Manager
Jordan Settles brings three generations of Camp Calvary experience, having served as faculty for 18 years and Dean for the All In high school mission trip for a decade before becoming Camp Manager in 2024.
Vickie Cooper
Kitchen Supervisor
Vickie Cooper has worked at Camp Calvary since 1989, continuing her late husband's legacy after 34 years of joint ministry at the camp. She oversees kitchen operations while supporting various other camp needs.
Kevin Reynolds
Building and Grounds Supervisor
Kevin Reynolds joined Camp Calvary in 2019 as Building and Grounds Supervisor, ensuring the maintenance and improvement of our 400-acre facility's infrastructure and natural spaces.

Ellie, hired in 2021 as Guest Services Clerk, combines her childhood camp experience with professional expertise to manage guest relations and administrative operations at Camp Calvary.

A fun clean atmosphere. Good times with nice and friendly people. A wonderful place to learn about Gods love for us as well as having a great time filled with life changing memories.
