Dry Pond Kennel is owned and operated by Bill and Beth Johnes. We are located in the country just outside of Johnston, SC. Our home is built on 55 acres with a 2 acre pond, that from time to time seems to partially dry up hence the name "Dry Pond Kennel". We are surrounded by open fields and woods; the perfect playground for a Labrador retriever.
We have been involved with Labradors since 1988 when we purchased our first Labrador and our love for this incredible breed has grown significantly with every Labrador that has been part of our life. Our first, Jessie, a black Labrador was gentle and loving. Our second, Jamie, a high spirited yellow Labrador always seemed to get into some sort of trouble.

Our home is built on 55 acres with a 2 acre pond, that from time to time seems to partially dry up hence the name "Dry Pond Retrievers & Kennels". We are surrounded by open fields and woods. We have access to surrounding ponds and land for training and playtime. Our original kennels (now used for storage and the boys) were completed in June of 2015.

Our dogs are part of our family. During the day a few stay in the house, while the others are out in the kennel. During the evening hours or middle of the weekend days you will find them playing in our living room, sprawled out on the sofa, love seat and recliner. They are addicted to ice cubes so if you are here you better fill your glass to the top because after they all get their ice cube you barely have any left in your glass.

Jenna has a rich chocolate coat and the classic Labrador look. Jenna's perfect health clearances and Excellent hips provides the foundation for our great breeding program. She is a go-getter in the field, great marking ability with a strong retrieving desire. She hits the water with enthusiasm and is a strong swimmer.
Sadie

Sadie is the perfect combination of her parents, Jenna and Hydro. She has the rich chocolate coat of her Mom and the bigger athletic build of her Father. She has been easy to train, is compliant and eager to please. She runs excellent marks and blinds. Sadie is perfect from the truck to the line, in the field, back to the line and to the truck.
Bella

Bella joined the Dry Pond Family in March of 2020. She isn't new to our family as she has been here two times to birth and raise her puppies. She was owned by professional dog trainer and owner of Top Line Retrievers, Colby Williams. Bella has joined into our pack quite nicely. It didn't take her long to realize that sleeping on the couch on our laps and occasionally sleeping in bed with us at night.
