Located in Fremont, CA, ASAP Automotive has been servicing customer's vehicles since 1994. Our services range from general auto repair to customizing your hot rod. Ron McLeod has been in the auto repair business for over 33 years. When he was younger he was always fixing his neighbor's bicycles and eventually he started working on their cars.
The best way to minimize more serious breakdowns and the higher costs associated with automotive repair is by doing routine maintenance. Preventive vehicle maintenance is simply what the manufacturer of your vehicle suggests getting done to keep your vehicle going. Whether you have a car or truck we provide the maintenance services to keep it running well.

It's a small shop so only 2 chairs outside for waiting, but you could walk down the block to Dale Hardware or 2 blocks to Carls Jr. Made an appointment for an alignment and was done an hour later. Had previously made an appointment at Wheel Works for an alignment and when I brought the car in they said it would be ready in 5 hours.

Unless your vehicle requires premium gasoline, filling up your car with high-octane gas is a waste of money. The premium gas doesn't boost your gas mileage or performance.

The ASAP crew installed a leveling kit and new tires on my Ram 2500, and I really had a great experience with them. I got an appointment on very short notice, they made it within the same day, kept me well informed and the price was even below what they initially thought. They did a great job, are very accommodating and friendly. Anything my truck needs, I‘ll return for sure!

I recently took my 2007 Mazda CX-9 in to get the transfer case fluid changed. DIY is a bit difficult since there is no drain plug on this model year and space is tight. I scheduled an appointment on a Friday morning, took it in and they had it on the rack within 15 minutes. The service tech was very thorough in getting all of the oil out. Although the case only holds about half a quart it was pretty thick and gooey. My model year has known issues regarding the transfer case fluid since it is right next to the catalytic converter and cooks. After refilling the case the tech cleaned up any oil drips

Spent an entire day searching for a good mechanic to save me from a chrystler dealership that insisted I needed 2500$ in brake work. I paid 74$ to ASAP to learn I needed no brake work at all. Best 74$ I ever spent.
Got to thank Chrystler though, because of them, I found a great mechanic.

Not only did these guys break my horn cap/button and act like it was no big deal, but they also broke my passenger window lever and didn't even tell me until I did a walk around and questioned them about it. I know my car wasn't a show room car but if these guys would at least treat other peoples property with respect and not hide damages that did on accident maybe I'd have more respect for them and continue to use their services or recommend them. Over priced for half done work that took twice as long. Good news is that I finally found a shop that actually did all the work I needed

Our car had the catalytic converter stolen. ASAP was great as I had the car towed to their shop the following day. They worked with our insurance provider and did all the paperwork they required. Once approved, they ordered the parts but, unfortunately, the parts were delayed due to demand and delivery issues. ASAP stored our car inside the shop until the new CAT was received. Once it came in (almost 2 weeks), ASAP made the repairs the same day. They also installed a customized CAT shield to discourage a repeat theft.

I came to ASAP Automotive for the 1st time, needing the gasket cover replaced. Price was reasonable, so I ended up getting an oil change and my air and cabin filters replaced. I had such a great experience.. the customer service and communication was the best I have ever had with taking my car into a shop.

After moving into the area I brought both my cars into ASAP's shop for the first time for oil changes and a repair. I suspected I had transmission issues on my Chevy but the mechanics were able to correctly diagnose the problem (the issue was not with the transmission) and gave me repair options without upselling me for no reason.
The problems they found on my Honda (which I was unaware of) were still in line with the car's behavior and overall I felt the shop was quite honest and reasonable even with the unexpected problems.
Labor costs are high here but about average for an independent

I took my vehicle in for a ignition replacement . That work was done well. However upon call back I was told I should do a diagnostic for the engine, because it was not running well - although it ran great and it had a recent tune up . . I agreed to it . Nothing serious was found .(bad spark.plugs) So I paid a bit more than expected for an ignition replacement. But that is par for the course most shops do try to upsell that is the nature of the beast.

Super friendly service and great guys. They know what they are doing. I took my Lexus to a dealership and they quoted me over twice what ASAP was charging. On top of that, the dealership only diagnosed one problem where ASAP called me and let me know the multiple issues with the car. Finished it quickly and was much more affordable than a dealership. All in all great service and I would definitely go back to them over getting scammed by the dealership.

Took my truck to them with a vibration problem when breaking.Instead of diagnosing problem they just replaced parts on front end.2400 $ later i get my truck back and problem was still there.come to find out the problem was from the rear of truck.they replaced parts that didnt need replacing.Would never go to this shop.

These guys do a great job. I trust their word and their work. Been coming to them for a few years. Recently took our new car in for a complete inspection and they found a few things that definitely needed attention ASAP. These guys are great. I had a flat on the freeway. AAA gave me several options where to have it towed. ASAP was the closest. Did I luck out. They not only put on the new tire but pushed my bumper back in place. It had been partially pulled off by a concrete block in a parking spot several weeks prior. While I was there they were doing maintenance/repairs on several autos. Some were older antiques & some were muscle cars. People don't take these kind of cars to just anyone. In my mind, they have to be good to get these type of customers. They kept me informed & were very professional

For years, ASAP has been my to-go shop not only for simple things like oil changes and tire rotation but for brake jobs and deep engine checks/investigation. I highly recommend them, specially during this pandemic. They've taken all the measurements to make you feel safe when they are handling your vehicle. I drive from the South Bay because they are that good and trustworthy. My car started acting up and shortly after the check engine light came on. I called ASAP Automative and from the get go felt really comfortable as they were very patient with me as I attempted to explain what was going on with my car. Luckily they were able to see my car that morning. Not only did they fix my car, they also were able to do an alignment. I will definitely be taking my car here in the future. Though I do most maintenance repairs and maintenance myself, sometimes "stuff" happens when a AAA tow to the nearest shop is the only safe choice.
Me and a friend of mine were on the way to Pittsburg on Presidents' Day, of all days! I was driving on 680 when I heard a loud grinding noise as I was applying the brakes. Turns out a bolt on the rear brake caliper managed to worm itself loose and the caliper wedged itself against the inside of the wheel!
Ended up calling a tow and picked this shop from a AAA suggested list as the closest one. It was already past 3pm, and far too

I want to thank Noe for being so helpful and accommodating to myself and my family. We got a flat Monday morning and got towed to their shop. When we arrived he was ready to help us out with prices that were reasonable within our budget and did not make us feel pressured to do any other work like most shops do. Did a pre-purchase inspection for a car I was looking at. Took it to these guys and they suggested almost $3,000 in repairs. Also heard two completely different things from the mechanic and the head of the shop. One said the car was in great shape, fifteen minutes later it's a lemon. Took it to another mechanic and he said the car was in great shape, and didn't need any work done. Don't know why they did this for a pre-purchase inspection considering I wasn't going to use them for repairs, but can't give them more than 1 star.

I had my car towed to ASAP because my parents had been doing business there for years, and they had worked on my car when it was my parents'. Noe was condescending and rude. He wouldn't tell me what brand parts they were going to use and only that they were "the highest quality". The parts seemed expensive compared to my research. Noe and Ron refused to do the work with an outsourced part, so I decided to do the work myself. Throughout every conversation, Noe was disrespectful and condescending.
