Chico Center for Learning now offers both in person and remote tutoring for dyslexia, reading/language arts, spelling, writing, and K-8 math support. We have a new location:. CCL offers tutoring for remediation or advancement in: reading/language arts, mathematics, spelling, homework completion and homeschool support.

Dyslexia is not the result of lack of motivation, sensory impairment, inadequate instructional or environmental opportunities, or other limiting conditions, but may occur together with these conditions. Although dyslexia is lifelong, individuals with dyslexia frequently respond successfully to timely and appropriate intervention.

About Us
Report
We believe in changing teaching approaches to work for the student, rather than expecting the student to change learning styles to suit the teacher. We feel that caring, celebrating and enjoying are necessary to balance the rigors of study. CCL currently is a small non-profit organization. CCL has always hired credentialed teachers and trains them to provide tutoring for children and adults with dyslexia and other special learning needs.
Board & Staff
Report
Chico Center for Learning was founded in 2005 by Linda Bates and Marlene Brenden. In 2009, CCL incorporated and applied for non-profit status. In the beginning CCL offered a very successful Transitional Kindergarten Class for 4 years-old students preparing to enter Kindergarten. CCL ended the program when the public-school system initiated their own Transitional Kindergarten.
