We invite you to enjoy the Refuge's Wildlife Drive, however there are a few rules and regulations that you must follow if we are to keep our wildlife, habitats, and visitors safe. We support habitat restoration and management, wildlife conservation, and enhancement projects at the Montezuma Wetlands Complex.

I knew the ducks would return to Tschache Pool but did not expect to see such an increase yet! Most species had increased in number since last Friday. Linda B spotted a snow bunting, just one, on the service road. A Ross's goose has been hanging out mostly in. WOW, what a difference a week makes! A week ago, the water level for Tschache Pool was over the gauge and the unit was inundated from the Clyde River.

Eagles
Report
In 1976 NYSDEC and US Fish and Wildlife Service joined resources in an unprecedented attempt to bring bald eagles back to the Finger Lakes. During a five-year period they brought young eaglets to a "hacking tower" at Clark's Ridge on the Refuge and finished raising them in preparation for release. They ultimately released 23 birds.

Guy’s Marsh
Report
In recognition of his many contributions, a special marsh restoration project is being planned as a lasting tribute to Guy's memory. The project will protect and restore habitat for waterfowl and marsh birds, and provide excellent opportunities for public enjoyment of wildlife at a site located within the 50,000 acre Montezuma Wetlands Complex, 30 miles west of Syracuse, New York.
