I began cake decorating in 1994 while attending the University of Georgia in Athens. I learned the high volume, commercial bakery business at Publix, while earning my degree in Child and Family Development. After moving to Blairsville in 2000, I accepted a position with DFCS while doing cakes on the side.
I opened a commercial bakery in 2004 and moved it in 2006 after discovering I was pregnant with twins. I now have a private cake studio where I can design cakes for all of your special occassions. I am constantly looking for the latest techniques and continue to study through an organization called ICES (International Cake Exploration Society).

Melissa did an amazing job on my daughters wedding cake! It was absolutely beautiful! She also did key lime pies and apple pies for the groom and they were delicious! Everything tasted amazing and the cake and pies were a beautiful display. We can't say thank you enough for helping to make the day so special!!

Melissa was absolutely wonderful. The tasting was great as we got to try and fall in love with her flavors. We planned out everything as I live out of state and only had a short visit. We stayed in my budget and she created an amazing cake. Our guests were obsessed with the strawberry cake and the other two flavors were equally delicious. 100% recommend a slice of cake or a whole wedding cake created by Melissa!

I would put 100 stars if I could! Melissa made the wedding cake for my daughters wedding this passed weekend. It was the most moist cake I have ever had! It was beautiful and the flavors we had were pumpkin, mint chocolate chip and red velvet. OMG it was amazing! Everyone loved it and could not believe how good it was. Melissa is very sweet person, we changed some things and she was so understanding. All of her bakery goods are amazing, I wish we did not live 1 1/2 hours away. We will be making some trips up there to visit and buy some sweets, it is sure worth the drive. Thank you Melissa again

We ordered a 3rd cake for our daughter’s birthday 9/21/21 (custom lemon cake) and once again it was absolutely stunning and delicious!! No better place to go to in NE Georgia.
My husband ordered a cake (our 2nd time) for our daughter’s birthday, we came to her with a picture from pinterest and gave her creative freedom. It came out SO cute and so delicious. I can’t recommend her shop enough!

While visiting Hiawassee, I needed a specialty B'day cake. I ordered one of Melissa's strawberry with Cream cheese frosting 4 layer cake's and had it decorated with a Navy flair. Wow! Wow! Wow! Pleasantly surprised as this was the best cake ever! Living in Miami, FL, I've had the opportunity to sample many cakes from multiple specialty bakeries. Melissa's custom cakes in Blairsville is at the TOP of my list. Doesn't get much better than this.

Melissa is PHENOMENAL!!! She made our wedding cake and cupcakes which looked just as good as it tasted! My wedding was a couple months ago and I still have guests talking about how good the cupcakes were! Melissa also offers a delivery service which saved SO MUCH STRESS on the big day!!! The cake was even more beautiful than I could have ever imagined!!! Thank you Melissa!!!

A dear friend of mine was vacationing in the Blairsville are for her birthday and I wanted to surprise her with a cake. Being from out of town myself, I trusted the reviews and called Melissa. I didn't get around to calling her until the day of my friend's birthday, but Melissa was able to deliver a custom cake by the end of the day. The cake was absolutely gorgeous... My friend sent me pictures and said she didn't want to eat it because it was so beautiful. But in the end she did... and was so thrilled with strawberry cake with lemon filling.
