Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation TMS
Report
I've recently added the Nexstim SmartFocus TMS system to my practice for the treatment of Major Depression and I could not be more excited to offer this advanced technology to the Rockford region. This system is very sophisticated and personalizes treatment by using the patient's own brain MRI images to guide focused stimulation of specific areas of the brain to relieve symptoms.
How Does Nexstim TMS Work
Report
Nexstim TMS is a unique form of TMS, that uses Navigated Brain Stimulation (NBS) to identify the special region of the cortex associated with mood regulation (the left dorsolateral prefrontal cortex). Pulsatile magnetic stimulation of a specific area of the brain produces biological responses in the brain over time that are antidepressant in effect.

Very poor communication! They get you in right away as a new patient but then takes days or weeks for them to return phone calls.

Absolute worst. From the sometimes-masking receptionists, to the dismissive psychiatrists and therapists, not to mention the horrendous location. Try anywhere else first, talk to a sock puppet before going to these jackals

The receptionist desk has consistently not worn masks throughout the pandemi. It's always at least one, if not more. I asked politely multiple times for them to put it on and they got very upset with me. If you care about health and safety, this is unfortunately not the place for you.

If I could give zero stars I would. I was receiving good care here but the receptionist is the absolute worst. Was quoted for therapy sessions and was told it would be $40 an appointment. I had previously stated I didn’t want therapy as it would be to expensive for me but after hearing the quote, I agreed.
Went to two sessions and got hit with an $1800 bill. Apparently what I was quoted was after I hit it deductible. Makes sense but I wasn’t told that. Couldn’t pay and so I also couldn’t receive my medication as I couldn’t see the psychiatrist either. They sent me to collections since

I started going here about Two months ago and I think it’s one of the best places I’ve ever been to I have Teresa Scheerenberge. She’s been helping me through my bipolar and she help me through my sons death anniversary and I couldn’t find a medication to help me sleep I was going to Rosecrance for 20 some years and they couldn’t help me through anything so I started to come here I would go here if you ask me it’s one of the best places I’ve ever been To. And if you had asked me Treece is the one that I would ask for she’s the one who’s gotten me through a lot of things she is

Theresa Scheerenberger changed my entire outlook on phusiactric care. My prior doctor made me uncomfortable and felt like I wasn't a priority. Theresa took me in immediately knowing my situation and that my medication was not appropriate and helped me get onto a path of recovery. She completely made me feel at ease and was available when my demanding schedule wouldn't have allowed me to see any other dr. 5 stars to Dr G. for employing practitioners who care about their patients and their actual recovery.
