Span Alaska began in 1978 as a vision from one of the most respected people in the industry. Ray Landry was one of the most respected people in the Alaska freight industry even before he formed Span Alaska Consolidators in 1978. With 30 years of experience with the major players in the industry, Ray applied all his knowledge and insight to launching and developing the kind of company he knew would best serve Alaskans.

Span Alaska conducts monthly safety meetings, provides continuous training, and actively monitors safety and compliance for all employees. A major winter storm system has developed in the Gulf of Alaska bringing with it hurricane-force winds and heavy seas. As a regular part of our Alaska service, SPAN provides specialized equipment to protect your shipments from freezing. Due to the delayed arrival of the Matson Anchorage 185N to the Port of Alaska the decision was made to bypass Kodiak, in order to get the vessel back on schedule.
