The customer's existing wood timbers were rotted after years of ongoing maintenance and sealing; they can also attract termites in some cases. Wood timber walls generally require resealing to prevent wood rot. The clients opted for masonry walls. There is no comparison between real stone walls and wood timbers when it comes to durability, longevity, ease of maintenance, and appearance.

Warranty

Mottern Masonry Design offers a 5 year warranty on all properly-maintained new installations at no additional cost. Most competitors only offer a 3 to 4 year warranty. For new installations on a crushed gravel or sand base, we offer a 1 year warranty. Mottern Masonry Design offers a 1 year warranty on all concrete work (including stamped concrete), repair work, and installations of brick and/or stone veneers over existing concrete bases.

For example, many landscapers will offer pavers on stonedust, but do not offer stamped concrete, stone, or brick. Some companies will do just stamped concrete and not brick, stone, or pavers on a concrete slab.
