In 2000, a group of coastsiders opened a casual family restaurant on Pillar Point Harbor in Half Moon Bay, CA, and in 2003 opened the first operating brewery on the San Mateo Coast since 1873. Over the years, we've expanded and now have an event center, inn and mobile taproom. We invite you to experience all the Brewing Company has to offer at each of our unique locations.
We were the first green-certified business on the San Mateo Coast, and continue to focus on and take pride in our environmentally-friendly policies like our low energy/water usage, recycling programs-including spent grain from the brewing process- and use of sustainable seafood. We were also the first brewery in California to brew a beer made from recycled water.

In 2000, a few locals got together with some hops and a dream - a dream to become a community place for great beer, food, and conversation. Today, our award-winning brewery and restaurant has become a favorite for locals and a destination for world travelers to come together to celebrate beer, friends, and fun.

Our Brew Team is always creating, so keep a lookout for our continuously changing list of seasonal and specialty beers. Over the last 20 years, James Costa has worked as some of the Northern California's most notable craft breweries, assisting in the creation of some truly spectacular beers like Bear Republic's famous Racer 5.

Started by Lenny Mendonca, the founder and owner of Half Moon Bay Brewing Company, Brews and Views serves as both a free public forum and philanthropy; part of the evening dining proceeds benefit the Cabrillo Education Foundation.
