Reading Write Alaska diagnoses and treats a variety of speech, language, and learning impairments. We have offices in Anchorage, Eagle River, and Wasilla. Our clinic is comprised of both Speech-Language Pathologists and Certified teachers with expert training and knowledge in all areas of language and learning, including Dyslexia.
We also have Occupational Therapists who focus on fine motor and handwriting. We believe in a multi-sensory approach toward treatment and do our best to make learning fun. Speech and Language
Report
We provide pediatric speech and language therapy to children with speech, language, auditory language processing, and developmental delays. We work together to implement the latest, most innovative techniques to fill in the gaps in their development, prevent further delays as they develop, and provide them the foundation necessary for success as they grow.
Reading and Spelling
Report
We utilize research-based methodologies based on the Science of Reading, Structured Literacy, and The Orton-Gillingham Method. We customize the pace of our instruction to help students progress as quickly as they can, but as slowly as the need. All work is completed in a simultaneously multi-sensory fashion.
Writing and Written Expression

Our written expression instruction is a skill, not product, based program. It includes creative writing and essay writing demonstration while teaching grammar. Stylistic techniques will be taught gradually bringing the student from basic to more sophisticated writing. This program can be used with students 3rd through 12th grade and leads to more creative and independent writing.
Math
Report
Utilizing small groups or one-on-one settings we help to build understanding and application, not simple memorization. We provide a complementary math placement assessment to provide necessary information regarding skills which need to be taught to improve your student's overall mathematical abilities.
ACT/SAT Prep
Report
The SAT is a standardized test which is required alongside US college applications. A good test score could be what gets your child into their desired school. The trick to taking the SAT is to know HOW to take the SAT. It is often different than many high school exams. It doesn't matter if you are gifted or must work a little harder, understanding the SAT is vital to success.
