Established in 1928, the Olivia Golf Club is one of the oldest courses and "best kept secrets" in the state of Minnesota. The Olivia Golf Course was built in 1928. Before becoming a golf course, the land was used by the U.S. Army as a pasture for their horses to graze. The present cart barn was the stable. The previous clubhouse was moved to Big Kandiyohi Lake and used as a cabin in the early 60's. In the 70's, a pond was constructed across the fifth hole stretching to the edge of #2 and #6.

Please remember that you are responsible for any damage that is incurred from a golf ball you have hit, same as balls hit on the course. If you break a window or cause other damage, please own up to the misfortune. With any shots that may end up in #8 fairway, please be conscious of golfers there and hold until they are safe from your hitting area.

As I write this letter, a blizzard warning has just been announced for tomorrow, and I am here dreaming of playing golf at Southwest Minnesota's gem. I hope for an early spring and a successful season for our club and our members. As always, this book will be the guideline of all things to do at the course.
