After spending the first eleven years of my life growing up and living in ten different places, including Southern California, Montana and Puerto Rico, our family moved to the Central California city of Salinas (salad bowl of the United States).
In Salinas from age eleven on I was lucky enough to experience many different "jobs" such as newspaper delivery, "in the stands" concessionaire at minor league baseball games, clerk at Long's Drugs (now CVS) and finally working in the fields and produce shipping facility to help pay my way through school at Chico State University.
