
The studio was founded as Westlake Audio in the early 1970s and is credited as "one of the first big commercial efforts to produce acoustically standardized interchangeable rooms". Westlake rooms aimed for an acoustic design that could give a fairly flat frequency response at the recording position, with the ability to control reverberation delay.
The studios became very popular, and "Westlake-style" rooms spread to a number of other studios and around the world by the late 1970s. A number of well-known artists have recorded at Westlake, including: Michael Jackson, Rihanna, Shakira, Justin Timberlake, Madonna, Ne-Yo, Donna Summer, Alanis Morissette, Boston, Van Halen, Frank Ocean, Josh Groban, Quincy Jones, Dave Matthews, Kelly Clarkson, Nas, Keyshia Cole, Aaliyah, Missy Elliott, Britney Spears, Nine Inch Nails, Justin Bieber, Fifth Harmony.

Studio A is one of the most historic rooms at Westlake. It has been the home of some of the biggest selling and most influential records of our time including Michael Jackson's Thriller. The 450 square-foot control room of Studio. Studio B is a beautiful mixing, tracking and overdub room equipped with a vintage SSL 4072 G Series console.

Studio C is Westlake Studios's premier tracking and mixing room. This beautiful studio features a 72 channel Solid State Logic 9072 J series console with a large selection of outboard gear. It has a 1,000 square-foot tracking room and a large private lounge that includes a living area, dinning area, private office and private bathroom.

Studio D is Westlake's flagship studio. This studio features an expansive control room with an 80 input Solid State Logic XL 9000 K console, a large selection of outboard gear, a covert private entrance, three private lounges, two private bathrooms and an exquisite 1,120 square-foot grand tracking room with 17 foot ceilings.
