Tri River Transit has been dedicated to providing safe, reliable, and low-cost transportation solutions to residents of Boone, Lincoln, Logan, Mason, and Wayne Counties in West Virginia since our founding. Our mission focuses on connecting communities to essential services including jobs, education, medical care, and shopping through a modern fleet of 32 vehicles, 26 of which are handicap accessible. Headquartered at Lincoln North Industrial Park outside Hamlin, we employ 37 professionals committed to operational excellence and community service.In 2025, we expanded the Man-Omar route to operate Monday through Friday, demonstrating our ongoing commitment to improving mobility options. Our service area covers 1,394 square miles across four counties, offering both fixed-route services and flexible route deviation options for enhanced accessibility.

Public Transportation
Tri River Transit provides scheduled bus services across five West Virginia counties with fixed routes covering major population centers. Our fleet accommodates standard passengers and those requiring wheelchair accessibility. Service operates Monday through Saturday with expanded weekday options on select routes.
Route Deviation
This service allows pickups or drop-offs up to 3/4 mile off established bus routes, providing enhanced accessibility for residents in less-dense areas. Reservations require advance scheduling with curb-to-curb service available for $2.00 fare. Available during regular operating hours.
Holiday Trips
Seasonal themed transportation services like our Christmas Light Trips offer curated experiences to local attractions. These special routes operate from multiple pickup locations with expertly planned itineraries. Reservations required in advance for limited seating.

How do I schedule a route deviation pickup?
Call 304-824-2944 at least one day in advance to schedule route deviation service. Provide your location details and preferred time during regular business hours.
What are the current bus fares?
Standard one-way fare is $1.00 with $1.00 additional for zone transfers. Curb-to-curb service costs $2.00 per ride. Children under 6 ride free with adult supervision.
Do you offer senior citizen discounts?

When does the holiday bus service operate?

It's a blessing that you do this service for the public. The price is unbelievable. I wish the service was available on the weekends as well. I understand why it's not though. Hats off to these folks. The drivers Pete and Tim on the Logan/Barbourville bus are top notch drivers. I took my mother to Walmart because her car doesn't work anymore and she can't see that well anymore. She couldn't believe it was only a dollar to get there and another dollar to get back. Thank you for your help and service.

I called to let driver in Mason county know I would be waiting in the cold the operator assured me she would relay the message after I walked a mile to the end of the road and waited the driver drove right by me and didn't slow down or look.
