In 1963, a young lady named Margaret Johnson started a dance studio in Garfield Heights, Ohio. The Studio's curriculum included ballet, tap, jazz and acro for ages pre-school thru adult. With the addition of gymnastics in 1974, Johnson Dance & Gymnastics was born. Celebrating our 50 years in business, Johnson's is expanding once again to accommodate our expanding enrollment.
We are adding over 2000 square feet, new equipment and foam pits! He has a B.A. degree from Baldwin Wallace University majoring in Business and a minor in Physical Education. Gym / Recreational/Team Director/Competitive Team Coach for JDG Cheryll started her gymnastic career at the age of 13 where she moved up to competitive gymnast in the 80's for Johnson's.

Our Non-Competitive Athletes spend 4 hours per week in the gym training. Our Competitive Athletes spend several hours a week at the gym based on their level. Our Competitive Teams compete both local competitions and out of State Invitational competitions. Is a Competitive Dance Team. Students are invited as young as the age of 5 to compete in various competitions throughout Ohio.

Due to limited seating, we ask if you plan on staying to watch that only 1 parent/spectator (18 and over) will be permitted to stay as long as there is a seat available. Parent/Spectator must remain in a seat until their child's class is finished. Siblings in a class prior or after scheduled class are asked to sit on their parents lap to keep the seats available for other parents/spectators.
