Includes Kindergarten, School and Camp Physicals Regular checkups allow us to monitor the development of growing children from birth to early adulthood. Infant and toddler visits are recommended to occur every two to three months, children over the age of two should visit annually.
Well, child visits are comprehensive exams that assess for any disease risks and provide nutrition, safety, immunization and development information, preventative medicine and behavioral counseling.Appointments may be made up to three months in advance. Your annual physical examination, when performed by Haywood Pediatrics, your medical home, allows for comprehensive quality health care services for your children.

Walk-in: Please arrive by 11:00 AM. *Please Note: We are generally here for a couple of hours seeing patients: we require an arrival time no later than 11:00am in order to quarantee a visit. Haywood Pediatrics is a group of Board Certified Pediatricians and Pediatric Nurse Practitioners. We have been providing health care to the children of Western North Carolina for over 40 years. Dr. Hammel was raised in the Buffalo, New York area. Dr. Hammel received his undergraduate degree from Canisius College in Buffalo and graduated magna cum laude with his medical degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Medicine.
