Philosophy
Report
Unlike other rehab centers, we don't believe that addiction is a disease. Our research shows that people become dependent on drugs and alcohol because of one of four causes. Our goal is to find out what's driving you to use drugs or alcohol, and once we locate the cause of your addiction, we will begin the work to heal it.
Meet the Founders
Report
Passages Ventura was founded in 2009 by father and son, Chris and Pax Prentiss. They decided to open an affordable treatment facility after having much success with Passages Malibu, which they opened in 2001. For ten difficult years, Pax was addicted to heroin, cocaine, and alcohol. He tried different treatment centers but always relapsed.
You are Not an Addict or Alcoholic
Report
By putting you in a lesser position than they are, making it seem as if you're wrong, they get to criticize you and tell you what to do. Some centers use that as an excuse to have you scrub toilets and do other menial work as if you need punishment for being an addict or alcoholic. What it does is keep their cleaning bill down and make you think you deserve the punishment.
