Hello, we are Lower Left Brewing Company, one of Charlotte's newest Craft Breweries, located in the historic Lower Southend neighborhood. Owners Tim Curtis and Alex Shoenthal met in Spring of 2018 and immediately recognized they shared the same goal; to open a unique and fun brewery, featuring the amazing, Award-winning beers that Alex has been brewing for the last 12 years.
As fate would have it, both Tim and Alex share the same vision of what beers they would like to produce commercially. They both have an affinity for all styles of IPA's, Sour Ales and Mixed-Fermentation styles, Farmhouse and Belgian Inspired brews, Historic and Experimental beers, Barrel-Aged beers, Fruit and Botanical infusions, as well as traditional and session styles.

Alex Shoenthal developed an early interest in brewing helping his Dad brew beer in the family basement. Always an avid Craft Beer fan, Alex's true calling as a brewer began around 2007 when he received a home brewing kit for his birthday.
While constantly upgrading equipment and refining his skills, he entered hundreds of brewing competitions all across the country, amassing a huge collection of ribbons and awards, including many Best of Shows and a pivotal Pro-Am win in 2013.Following his diverse brewery background, Alex met Tim in 2018 and they decided the time was right to open their own brewery, and just like that, Lower Left was born!

One of Alex's most famous recipes, this West Coast style Rye IPA drips notes of Tropical Mango, Sweet Pine and Candied Citrus backed by a chewy, spicy Rye Malt character. Infused with bold Citrus flavors, this NE IPA will warm your taste buds like the Twin Suns. It's heavily dry hopped for notes of candied Citrus, red Berries, Mandarine Orange, Peach, and tropical flavors of Mango and Papaya.
