MTC in the Past

Step back in time.think of a simpler moment in our great town's history, a Saturday evening when the streets of Meyersdale were bustling with people. When our lives weren't consumed by cell phones, internet, text and instant messages, DVR's, cable television and Facebook. When we not only knew our neighbors, but enjoyed their company and often times depended on them when times were tough.

Interesting place to stay off the GAP trail. The room itself was nice and it’s super easy to get in the building with the code. In the off-season, the restaurant is closed and there is nobody around so it feels a little empty and eery. We read it was a former mortuary but some other people we met didn’t know and freaked out. Easy access to the garage to store our bicycles.

Very noisy. We drove 10 hours to find a nice quiet place to sleep. Kids were running up and down the hallway until late. Walls are paper thin, you can hear people speak in the room next to ours. Bathroom is shared, which should be clearly stated in the rental description. Would not recommend this place to anyone. There are no good places to eat in town. Stopped at a Sheetzz gas station to get garbage fast food for dinner. Not a pleasant experience at all. Would not comeback here again.

Just completed my second stay at this unique hotel. Both times I was with a group and everyone enjoyed the accommodations. Words that were used were unique, quirky and even spooky. Jeremy and Jill were very accommodating and the hotel caters to rider of the GAP trail. We enjoyed the bike storage and cleaning supplies. Hoping to visit again post-COVID so we can fully enjoy the restaurant.
Our group gathered nightly on the outside upper deck to enjoy beverages and recount stories of the day's adventures. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. The Hoover Suite was the gathering place for my group

By far one of my favorite places to stay! The design, location and overall vibe were all EXTRAORDINARY (and downright awesome). I wish the restaurant had been open but I’ll just have to return one day on a weekend :) I come from Nashville, TN where I see a lot of folks trying to emulate this type off offbeat environment - you guys are the real deal and have NAILED IT! Thanks so much for creating awesome memories for me and my folks during our hike of the GAP. We’ll be back!
