South Louisville Pediatrics first opened their doors in 1956, with Drs. Alvin Churney and Billy Adams, in a small office on Park Drive in Shively. Since that time, we have changed locations 5 times, but our doors have always remained open. We offer a full array of services such as same day sick visits and weekend hours to help your child maintain good health.

Meet Our Team

Dr. Speer is the senior partner at South Louisville Pediatrics and has been a provider for our offices since August of 1978. He completed his undergraduate studies at Western Kentucky University in 1969 and graduated from the University Of Louisville School Of Medicine in 1974. He was the Chief Resident during his third year of training.

Our Physicians and Nurse Practitioners strive to provide excellent medical attention with a caring staff of personnel to ensure your experience in our offices is a superior one. In order for us to begin the process, there are several forms to be completed. Please download these forms and complete them prior to your first visit.

We are accepting newborns, as well as older children who are looking to transfer from a different physician's office. We accept most major insurances, as well as Passport. Due to contracts with your insurance company, this can change at times, so it is best to contact your insurance company or speak to someone in our billing office before transferring your care, or scheduling an appointment with new insurance.
