We are located a little "off-the-beaten-path", but once you arrive, we hope you'll sit back, relax and enjoy the laid-back and fun atmosphere of our little piece of the Texas countryside.

Or, relax in the country breeze on one of our covered "wine sippin'" porches. If the mood strikes you, grab one of our delicious cheese trays and make your own picnic under one of the many large oak trees dotting the property.

Whistling Duck Vineyards began operations in 2007 with the planting of 50 test vines at our 17 acre family farm in Weimar, Texas, and so began our labor of love. The vineyards were planted and maintained by the original six founders of Whistling Duck Vineyards - Stan & Mary Beth Johnson, John & Kari Cooke and Brent & Brenna Frazier.

Our owners, Stan & Mary Beth Johnson and John & Kari Cooke have realized a dream that began almost a decade ago after visiting the beautiful vineyards and wineries in the Washington and California wine countries. Stan's lifelong background in horticulture and John's keen interest in winemaking sparked the dream into a reality.

Our old-world style (dry) Ros wine is created from our a selected red wine grape varietal that varies from one year to the next through a special process of extracting the juice from the grapes known as Saignee or bleeding. Ros wines made through bleeding are rich, fruity and have great freshness. Although this wine is wonderful by itself, it also compliments light meats, seafood, cheese, melon and pasta.
