Healing Reins Therapeutic Riding Center

Since 1999, Healing Reins Therapeutic Riding Center has provided equine-assisted strategies designed to help Central Oregonians with varying disabilities and special needs to thrive. With the horse as partner, participants enter a truly integrated therapeutic experience that is proven effective and fun.

Healing Reins Therapeutic Riding Center offers two types of equine-assisted services: Horsemanship Services and Therapy Services. Therapeutic Horsemanship: An equine-assisted activity for the purpose of contributing positively to the cognitive, physical, emotional, and social well-being of individuals who are participating.

Therapeutic Horsemanship is a powerful outlet for children, teenagers, and adults with a wide variety of cognitive, emotional, physical, and developmental challenges. These challenges include autism to PTSD, depression to cerebral palsy, and everything in between.

Our PATH Internationally certified instructor staff is well-equipped to help all individuals gain success and feel supported in our Therapeutic Horsemanship classes - regardless of background or prior experience.Lesson plans are tailored to meet the physical, cognitive, emotional, and behavioral needs of the individual participant, with individual progress documented weekly.

There are three kinds of therapy we offer at Healing Reins Therapeutic Riding Center: Mental Health, Physical, and Occupational. Healing Reins Therapeutic Riding Center provides mental health services that include both horses and the farm environment. Including horses in mental health counseling, psychotherapy, or social work is emerging as an effective experiential treatment technique.

Healing Reins Therapeutic Riding Center provides mental health services that include horses and the farm environment to ages 6+ in Central Oregon. Equine Assisted Mental Health (EAMH) is a holistic, experiential and highly specialized form of therapy that involves working in collaboration with a horse, a therapist, and an equine specialist.
