SOCA was founded in 1982. Initially offering youth recreational soccer programming, the organization has grown through the years to become the preeminent soccer provider in this region of Virginia. With soccer programming offered for young and old, novice to advanced players, SOCA now serves over 6,000 local soccer players seasonally.
Programs are offered at various levels and are designed to serve anyone interested in the sport of soccer. SOCA's community has also grown over time as well. In addition to the exponential growth of soccer players in the Charlottesville and Albemarle region, SOCA also expanded to serve families and players in the Augusta County region.

The Soccer Organization of the Charlottesville Area (SOCA) has many ways for corporate and small businesses as well as individuals to become involved with our soccer community. Sponsoring teams or programs is a great way to increase your company's exposure locally while also helping SOCA build long lasting programs essential for the development of our youth.

The mission of the SOCA travel program is to provide advanced development through a competitive game and team training environment. Player development takes place through elevated commitment and competition. SOCA Travel teams represent the Charlottesville and Albemarle community within their league and at various tournament and invitational events.
Challenge Program

To provide a safe, enjoyable soccer experience with a primary focus on player development. The Challenge Program is an advanced recreation league, composed of players selected through a tryout process. Challenge serves eager and talented players in local programming through an appropriately competitive and challenging league environment.

The Recreation program mission is to provide a safe, enjoyable, and educational soccer experience with an emphasis on enthusiastic participation, regardless of ability. SOCA is pleased to provide a great Recreational soccer experience for all interested boys and girls in our region. Recreation soccer is available to all interested players. Teams are formed by neighborhood or schools, in an effort to ensure that each player may know others on the team. Age group limits are defined by VYSA or USYS.
