
Many people who are empaths, feel emotions so strongly (theirs and others) that one of the ways they have learned to cope with this is by eating unhealthy foods or food in larger quantities than their body needs. This may have developed when quite young and easily becomes a habit as life goes on. For some, carrying excess weight is a way of protecting self from stress, feelings and unwanted attention.

I have been "overly sensitive" since I can remember. I was very observant as a child and internalized all experiences around me. I was called moody, and dark as a teen and had never felt like a "happy go lucky" girl. It wasn't until a couple of years ago that I realized I'm more than just sensitive and intuitive- I am an empath.
