I called this company to diagnose and repair my Whirlpool electric range which wasn't heating to the same temp as the electric gauge. We couldn't get a in home visit for almost a week but when the tech Eddy came, he was friendly and able to diagnose the issue quickly. The cost was significantly inflated but was the easiest solution to getting our range back working. The overall cost is most of the reason for this 3 star review. Eddy ordered the part for us and it arrived about 4 days later. We were able to get an appointment 4 days after we called for an install. On the day of the appointment

We had Action Appliance come out to replace the heating element in our oven. The bill came out to $652.00. $218.00 for the part and $400.00 for the labor. That appears to be price gouging to me. Shame on me for not checking Action Appliance out before you stepped foot in my house. I'm surprised that Action Appliance is able to get away with this for so long.

We had been long standing customers of dougs appliance repair in East lyme. I called having moved to killingworth and they said they could still do appliance repairs. However Dougs is now action appliance and unfortunately service has totally changed. For a 40 minute job, we we charged 350, which included a part and shipping for 60. When asked… where this price came from? I was told appliance repair blue book. Labor equated to 400 and hour with no transparency of pricing. Old school was parts plus labor and tax. Very disappointed very deceptive pricing tactics. Dougs was great - action appliance
