Kyphoplasty (vertebral augmentation) is a minimally invasive procedure designed to stop pain from a spinal compression fracture. Spinal Compression fractures can occur from trauma such as a slip and fall, but also occur spontaneously. As we get older, our bone density decreases (osteopenia/osteoperosis) putting us at at higher risk of suffering a compression fracture.
