The Northern Illinois Soccer League / N.I.S.L. was founded in 1975 as a competitive youth soccer league for Boys and Girls ages U8 through U19. It provides the day-to-day organizational structure for more than 1,000 teams in over 97 Chicago area communities. Our mission is that all soccer related decisions should be made with the player in mind.
We are interested in the development of youth soccer, not the politics. Our office staff consists of players and coaches that believe in creating and maintaining a league that is focused on the development of the players at various levels and providing a competitive and equal playing field.

Enviromental Conditions
Report
Environmental conditions can significantly impact player health and safety. Extreme temperatures, severe weather and the integrity of the playing field and its equipment all impact players' ability to practice and compete safely.
U.S. Soccer's Recognize to Recover program gives players, parents, coaches and referees information and guidelines to make sure the desire to play does not cloud the decision-making process when it comes to evaluating environmental conditions to ensure the safety of those on the field.Extreme heat can impact players' health and safe play.

Just the Right Challenge
Report
If your team is ahead by 5 goals the losing team can add another player to play and continue to add another player every three additional goals to a maximum of 11 goals. If goal differential is then reduced to 4 goals players should be removed. Hopefully you have all had the unfortunate experience of being on the losing side of a blow-out or a slaughter.
NISL USClub Sideline
Report
The problem is that many coaches are not properly trained to make the right decision on the field. The result is that each year up to 2 million young athletes are sent back in to play before they are ready, turning a mild injury into something that can result in weeks or months of lost playing time.
NISL Club Linesperson
Report
The Northern Illinois Soccer League (NISL) offers effective 2016, a NISL Club Linesperson for NISL Clubs at no charge. Currently there is a shortage of referees, especially young referees in the Chicagoland area. It is hoped that this will help the current situation by freeing up those referees that are assigned as assistants to become center referees.
