Our care approach is designed to accommodate the needs of each resident in order to create a positive environment. We emphasize resident-centered services based on individual needs and customized care.

HNRC offers short stay rehabilitation with the goal to return home, as well as long term skilled nursing care. In 1965 local businessman and civic leader Jim D Moody, along with his wife Mattie, began operation of the Hanceville Nursing Home. While many nursing homes are now the property of large corporations, ours remains a family owned facility dedicated to meeting the needs of our neighbors in Cullman County and throughout northern Alabama.

About Us Report

From personal experience in seeking care for his elderly mother, Kitty, Jim D knew there was a need. He built this nursing home for her and others requiring skilled care. Until he passed away in 1994, meeting the needs of our residents and their families was Jim D's daily mission.

While many nursing homes are now the property of large corporations, ours remains a family owned facility dedicated to meeting the needs of our neighbors in Cullman County and northern Alabama.As our neighbors' needs have grown, so have we. Our facility is now equipped with 208 beds. When you enter our facility you can always be assured a warm and friendly greeting from staff who take a personal interest in every resident.

Services Report

Our facility employs over 260 staff members and we diligently work to maintain the highest standards of operation. Our nurses, therapists and support personnel work together as a team to provide superior services every day. We provide 16 hour RN coverage and 24 hour LPN coverage at our facility on a daily basis.

Fantastic place! You may not be able to reach them on the phone, but that’s because, they’re hands-on taking care of their residents. We just witnessed an amazing 21 day turn around for our Uncle David. They absolutely revived him. We are amazed!
S/O to the outstanding therapy department that motivated him & to the wonderful CNAs and Nurses that groomed and nurtured him.

We took our mom there thinking she was going to get better and they left her without her oxygen and died the next morning. We were really sad . Horrible experience. (Hispanic).

I am writing here to complain particularly against the receptionist that was working Wednesday Oct 28 at 4:30 p.m.. My mother Christine is a long-term resident of yours. My father and I had an appointment to see her for a socially distant visit. I drove 11 hours to see her because my father said that everything was scheduled. It was approved by higher ups but nobody in the facility was on the same page, and it was clear immediately that there was terrible communication throughout all of this. My father even confirmed that everything was good to go TWENTY MINUTES before we showed up. First we were

When my grandmother was picked up from here she was in worse shape than when she went in for her 21 day stay. I would not recommend this nursing home to anyone. Half of the staff is rude and are not attentive to the patients needs.
