Alanson M Randol, DDS

Shelly, our Lead Dental Hygienist, joined our team in 2008. She is a 2007 graduate of Lane Community College where she received her Associate Degree in Dental Hygiene. Before that she earned her Dental Assisting Certificate in 2000. Dayna has worked as a Registered Dental Hygienist for our office since 2006.

Dr. Randol graduated from Oregon State University in 1996 and then completed his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of the Pacific in 1999. Only two months later, Dr. Randol opened his practice in Roseburg, Oregon.

Dr. Randol has also served as a board member for Umpqua Community Health Center, Umpqua Valley Cal Ripken, Umpqua Community College Foundation, Oregon Dental Association Trustee, Oregon Dental Association House of Representatives, UVC School Board, and as a Roseburg Rotary member.Dr. Randol also works as a Prefect Professor for Oregon Health & Science University, mentoring fourth-year dental students during their rural rotation in our office.

Professional teeth cleaning is sometimes referred to as prophylaxis (or prophy for short). It's a Greek word which means "to prevent beforehand" - in this case, it helps prevent gum disease. Composite resins, or tooth-colored fillings, provide good durability and resistance to fracture in small- to mid-size fillings that need to withstand moderate pressure from the constant stress of chewing. They can be used on either front or back teeth. They are a good choice for people who prefer that their fillings look more natural.

Veneers are plates of porcelain that are bonded on the front surface of the anterior teeth. Although they are very thin, veneers become very strong once bonded to the tooth. Porcelain veneers are an excellent choice for covering cracked, chipped, or discolored teeth. Because of their natural appearance, porcelain veneers can make a very pleasing improvement to your smile.
