Teen Classroom
Report
The State of Minnesota requires persons under 18 years of age who wish to acquire driving privileges to complete 30 hours of classroom instruction and 6 hours of behind the wheel instruction. Range Driver Training offers this service. Students who choose this service agreement, complete classroom and financially commit to the 6 hours of behind the wheel will be issued a Blue Slip.
Adult Defensive Driving
Report
Adults (persons over 18 years of age) wishing to take behind the wheel must have an instruction permit. Adults are not required to take behind the wheel so they may take 1 or up to 10 hours of behind the wheel as needed. Behind the wheel lessons will usually be 1 student to 1 instructor. Occasionally there may be other students or instructors in the car for your lesson.
Vanessa’s Law
Report
She was a passenger in a vehicle driven by an unlicensed 15-year-old. Under "Vanessa's Law, " if your provisional license is revoked because of an impaired driving crime or crash-related moving violation, you lose your license until you are at least 18. If you commit these crimes as an unlicensed driver, you can't apply for a permit until you are 18.

I will schedule instructors to come to Ely to drive when we have enough hours to drive a full day. Call me to coordinate taking a permit test & starting your Behind the Wheel in Virginia on the same day. This will require some advance notice. We offer to do this for any student who must travel into Virginia to take a permit test.

There's a cellphone in everyone's pocket, purse or bag; and rightly so! Cellphones give added security, social and business interaction and internet access. But just as a sword can be double edged, cellphones come with risks from which we should be aware. The most talked about risk these days is texting and driving- a potent distraction!
