Septic System Pumping & Maintenance
Report
The single most important thing you can do to maintain your septic system is to have the septic tank(s) pumped regularly. Wisconsin Plumbing Code SPS 83 requires that systems be inspected and pumped (if needed) at least once every three years. This schedule may work for some homeowners, but some may need more frequent maintenance.
Septic Systems
Report
Remember: Septic systems and mound systems are not permanent! Nor are they giant municipal systems that can handle anything you pour or flush into them. They are merely filters built in your yard that will fail (due to accumulation of solids) at some point in time. The following information, if followed properly will help you maintain your system for as long of time as possible.
Filter Cleaning
Report
For optimum efficiency it is recommended you have the septic tank pumped immediately prior to cleaning the effluent filter. This lowers the water level to the bottom of the tank. The effluent filter is located in your septic tank just below the manhole cover. In a system with a two-compartment septic tank, the filter would typically be beneath the second manhole cover.
Sewer Installation
Report
Herr Construction has been connecting homes and businesses to sewer (and water) for four generations. Whether gravity sewer or pressure sewer, Herr's expertise will ensure the project is performed to the most stringent standards. Here at Herr, our goal is to minimize the potential for any future repair issues or blockages.
Sewer Repair
Report
Before we even begin discussing sewers, please note: DO NOT FLUSH WIPES-any kind of wipes. Toilet paper should be the only paper product being flushed. Over time MANY sewers experience blockages or breaks in the pipe that cause sewage to back up into a home or cause the inability to flush toilets or use water without back-ups occurring.
