At NSAGO we want to make sure your baby develops the way Mother Nature wants, that you deliver safely, and that you're recovering as expected afterward. Here are the conditions our OBGYNs and midwives treat and services we offer at NSAGO, from adolescence through menopause. We've been a proud member of The International Cesarean Awareness Network (ICAN), for the past number of years.

ICAN's mission is to improve maternal-child health by reducing preventable C-Sections through education, supporting cesarean recovery, and advocating for VBAC. North Shore Associates in Gynecology and Obstetrics also has the largest private Midwifery group in the area. Patients in Wilmette, Glenview, Evanston, Chicago, Skokie, Winnetka, Glencoe, Northbrook, and many other communities seek out our midwives for the attentive care they offer.

Common tests during pregnancy
Report
We will run a variety of tests during pregnancy to make sure you and your baby are healthy, and your baby is developing naturally. 6 - 13 Weeks: First TrimesterAt the new OB appointment we take a detailed medical and family history and a physical exam including pap smear(if indicated), cultures, and blood work.
Delivering your baby
Report
At North Shore Associates in Gynecology and Obstetrics we offer vaginal delivery, VBAC, and C-section. Our goal with you is to help you understand your options for delivering your baby and help you make the best choice for you. We encourage creating a birth plan together with you so your caregivers understand your preferences during delivery.
In-office services and labs
Report
We use ultrasound to confirm your due date, check for obvious abnormalities, and check placental location. Ultrasound is also used to detect a number of possible birth defects such as Down Syndrome, a neural tube defect (Level II ultrasound is used for this) and others. A 3D ultrasound scan is just what it sounds like - it's a three-dimensional image of your baby.
Postpartum Care
Report
Traditionally, we expect to see you for a checkup about 6 - 8 weeks postpartum, when you should be well healed and your uterus is back to its pre-pregnant size. For new parents that might seem like a long time. If you want to add a visit 2 - 3 weeks after birth, you are more than welcome to do so. Your goal for a postpartum checkup is to get all of your questions answered.
